Dear Advanced Disposal customers,
As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread rapidly, it has been determined by the CDC that the virus can remain viable for hours or up to days on a variety of waste materials. As an added step of protection for their employees, all waste must be bagged in order to be collected. Grocery bags containing waste will not be accepted as these are prone to breaking open and are the major cause for windblown trash on collection days. Loose trash will be left at the curb and not collected. If you are using containers, all waste must still be bagged prior to depositing it in your trash toter.
This bagging requirement DOES NOT include recyclables. Recyclables shall remain un-bagged and single stream. However, we cannot guarantee pick up of your recyclables at this time as they are concentrating on pick up of trash and may be working with limited staff.
Bulk item pick up has been temporarily suspended until further notice in an effort to avoid touching anything outside of the toter.
We ask for your patience as Advanced Disposal takes these necessary steps to protect the safety and welfare of their employees. Any questions concerning your trash service may be directed to North Newton Township’s office by calling (717) 776-7665.
